Here, Everyday Life &
Conscious Aging Is Celebrated & Shared
(With Occasional, Outrageous and Insightful Crone-Tri-Butions)
The "Kalanemi" or Rim of the Great Star Wheel of Time
at the edge of the universe was thought to embody the spirit of the zodiac, and was sometimes depicted as a World Serpent
circling the earth, tail in mouth. One had to study the Kalanemi in order to learn "kalends", the chronological order
of the seasons and festivals as the great star wheel turned. They were the New Moon Sabbaths of ancient Latinium. The
lunar calendar was used in Saxon England where the month of May was known as "SproutKale", the sprouting time of
Virgin Mother earth with her archaic name of Kale, Kelle, or Kali. "Nemi" in Greco Roman culture meant Moon-grove. The
ancient astrologers viewed the zodiac/star wheel as the sacred Moon grove thru which She traveled. Here, you will find that the "everyday" and every crone/cronie's story counts as important. All are invited to
join the Moon and I as we change, laugh, cry and celebrate during our journey around the Star Wheel of the ancient Moon-grove.
A Woman's journey from Birth, throughout her
Maiden and Motherhood years, winding its way through many Lunar Phases and Progressions towards Cronedom can
be a journey of empowerment for the woman who challenges stereotypes and chooses to embrace her personal uniqueness as it
unfolds. No one who has lived long enough to experience their Uranus Opposition (when transiting Uranus opposes
it's natal position) is exempt from experiencing mid-life transits. However, all can benefit from greeting such life
transitions as a cosmic opportunity to begin to balance the left and right (male/female) side of our brains, which
in turn helps us to begin to understand and heal ourselves, one another, our relationships and our communities.

New Moon Dreamboards II
Time & Date to be announced
In The Studio, at The Herb Wyfe
The monthly New Moon is a perfect time to begin envisioning any dreams you'd like to bring
to fruition. We'll be covering the meaning of the 12 signs and houses of the zodiac, how they correspond to different
areas of our lives, as well as discovering which house in your Natal chart each New Moon falls in 2010. We
will then explore how we can "plant" a whole year's worth of New Moon "seeds" by creating personal & unique dreamboards
that reflect our individual dreams, hopes and wishes.
Please bring a blank posterboard, a notebook, old or new magazines, your natal chart and
fondest dreams. Scissors, glue and additional old magazines will be supplied. Don't have a natal chart yet? Just let
Debi know and she can have one ready for you at the time of class. Cost for class: $40. Class & chart
$45.
NOTE: It has come to my attention that Anna Livanos, who is not known to me and is based
in Australia recently launched a website called starcrone.net. While I appreciate and respect the work she does (energetic
healing) she is not affiliated with my website.

Winter Solstice
12/21 - Tuesday. Winter Solstice, Taurus Moon. Once more the
Oak King and the Holly King, gods of the Waxing and Waning Year "do battle". The Oak King "rules" from midwinter to midsummer,
the Holly King from midsummer to midwinter, beginning with harvest and ending with Saturnalia and Yuletide. The incoming king
"slays" the outgoing one, but the defeated "King" is not dead but merely stepping back (into Caer Arianrhold, the Castle of
the ever turning Silver Wheel) during the 6 months of his brother's "reign". And so it is"out with the old (king) and in with
the new", with the return of the light at the time of the birth of the Sun Child promising new life in the Spring. In
Egypt, Osiris returns once more to Isis. In Sicily it is La Vecchio de Natali. The (Hopi) Kachina Night Dances begin, and
the celebration of the re-birth of the light continue worldwide. It is the time of the Celtic/Druid Festival of the Stars,
the time of the "Nameless Day" which is within one degree of the Galactic Center which begins the 3 "Sacred Days" of the winter
solstice from the eve of 12/20 to sunrise of 12/24. These days with the synchronization of the Sun aligned to the Galactic
center, symbolically mark a spiraling vortex/portal thru which mankind can step to regenerate his or her spiritual self.
Best Wishes for A Happy Holiday and Warm Winter Solstice! ~ Seacrone
12/20 - Monday. Moon in Aries. Although Mercury's direct once more, we're snowed
in. No school. Time for a fire and board games. My husband, delayed by the bad weather/roads and I play chess and then dig
out the driveway so he can make his way into the office. Then, my son, who has never expressed an interest in chess before,
asks me to teach him the game, and promptly beats me twice. Hmmm....somehow I think I've been set up. He's been
secretly practicing somewhere methinks.
12/19 - Sunday. Rainy, but beautiful family day with the kids/grandkids. Lots of
food. Excellent ham, and the Ziti dissappeared quickly. Now that the "kids" are old enough to appreciate it, I had made copies
of some of the very oldest family pictures (for gifts), including their great-great grandparents, for them to pass down to
the grand-children. While doing our genealogy, I found it interesting (and helpful in understanding them better)
to do natal charts for the different generations and see the similarities/patterns with Ascendants, Moon's Nodes, Sun
and Moon signs.
12/18 - Saturday. Moon in Aries as of 4:52 pm (EST). I have yet to see a time of
Mercury Retrograde that doesn't have me doing some sort of re-vision, going thru paper-work, making corrections, fixing cars,
affecting computers/phones, etc. This one has been no different. I have spent the day looking thru every drawer, file, box,
etc. for the title to my husband's old motorcycle as he wants to sell it to some guy who wants to restore it.
I am running behind, needing to bake the Ziti for a family gathering on Sunday, but I finally manage to get things done. The
bike gets sold, my husband's sad, but he's already thinking about the new(er) one he plans to get in the spring. No doubt the
guy's wife who bought the old one must have loved him dragging another one home...He has four of them so far that
he's working on....
12/17 - Friday. Pisces Moon. Today, my youngest daughter went with her class
to see the Nutcracker Suite (her favorite) looking so beautiful and grown up when she left this morning. She burst back in
the door this afternoon excitedly telling me all about the wonderful "Mouse-King" and proudly showing me the certificate she
had just received from school for "The citizen of the Month" along with a glowing mid-term report. I'm happy to see her
blooming with such self-confidence, while part of me wants her to stay a little girl forever...

Chop Wood, Carry Water
12/16 - Thursday. The Moon in Pisces conjuncted Uranus at
6:09 pm (EST). Suddenly I'm getting into the Christmas Spirit. The tree's been cut and is going up. The kindling wood is drying
for the fire. Christmas music is playing, and the popcorn is popping for cranberry and popcorn garlands. My son is testing
the lights. The only thing missing is the eggnog, and you can betcha that won't be for long. My Mother used to make wicked
good eggnog. No store-bought for her. Think I'll go whip some up. Watch out for
snags in travel and communications in the early a.m. Friday, when the Moon squares Mercury (still retrograde) at 7:24
am (EST). Patience though, as just a few more days and Mercury goes direct once more (12/20). ~ Seacrone

Moon Cookies and Tea
12/14 - Tuesday, Crescent Moon - 1:02 pm (EST) Moon 8AQUARIUS37,
Sun 23SAGITTARIUS37 What a beautiful Crescent Moon tonite! Have your New Moon projects began to sprout
and poke their heads out of the ground yet?
This is the time they need tender care. Today's Venus trine
Saturn aspect was a wonderful time for "old relationships" that have endured
the test of time, and a time when newer relationships can turn more serious and committments
made that last. Chinese Astrology has certainly stood the test of time and the Chinese Sieu (Lunar Mansion) for today
is called Wei (tail), a star in the Eastern Arc of the Green Dragon whose symbolic animal is the Tiger. It is a lucky day
associated with the planet Mars, and presides over Mothers and children, boats, legacies, and any project you started today
will be blessed with prosperity. (In the Chinese Zodiac each Sieu is ruled by a fixed star and each one is located in one
of the 4 arcs of constellations that the Chinese identified. They are the Green Dragon, White Tiger, Dark Warrior and Red
Bird. For more about Chinese astrology check out the Book list page).
This afternoon, with the Aquarius Moon on my Asc. and in trine to my
4th house, I thought I might make some "Christmas Cookies" while listening to Loreena McKennitt's 'To Drive the Cold
Winter Away'. I was all set with the dough rolled out and couldn't find the cookie cutters, so I experimented with different
sized cups and bottle caps and came up with little white, "Sally Lunn" moon shape cookies with plain white frosting,
( I had ran out of sprinkles). Usually I make these at Full Moon time, but these were just the right shape
and size to take a big bite out of each one in order to leave a perfect crescent moon shape, he he. Think I'll go have a cup
of Black Haw tea and see if there's any left. After all, that Aquarius Moon has got to be pretty near trine my 4th house Venus
by now! Hmm...my husband just got in....think I'll go put some perfume and more music on instead. ~Seacrone
12/13 - Monday. Moon in Capricorn. Once as punctual as the tides, my moon
cycle, having dissappeared for 3 months has spiraled back "with bells on", so it's been a Lady's Mantle, Witch Hazel Bark,
Rasberry kind of day with Cinnamon sprinkled on everything. My sister-in-law
and I compared notes today, and it seems over the past 3 years hers "cycled down" the same way, coming and going after
months of reprieve, altho it's been almost a year for her now, and she will soon be newly Croned! She swears by
Black Cohosh for her menopausal metamorphosis. Don' t forget the Geminids Meteors beginning tonite!

Over the New Moon Weekend
12/12 - Sunday. Slept in.....then it was time to hit the deck again,
running....."They're Baaccckk" ( the kids).
Later on I hear from my oldest daughter. She calls me to let me
know how much she's enjoying my website, especially "My
Favorite Lynx" page. She was at her friend's house at New Moon time (last
night) when she first read it. She lives where (if you're lucky enough), the beautiful and silent Lynx can be found,
and later that nite, while driving home, one runs across the road. The synchronicity of the Universe never ceases to amaze me. Keep listening to the still,
small voice within, my Daughter, listen to the rhythm of your blood.
12/11 - Saturday Nite - New Moon Time. In Rome, this is the day of the Goddess Bruma ('winter'). My broom and the winter cold will have to wait
for I have planned a few stolen hours....an evening alone with my husband,
cheese and grapes, a warm comforter, no kids, snuggling, laughing...... Later, Seacrone

Dancing in the Dark
12/8 - Wednesday. The Balsamic Moon Phase began at 1:12
pm (EST) Moon 2SCORPIO00 and Sun 17SAGITTARIUS00 (Moon 0 - 45 degrees behind Sun).
Yeah! The Dark of the Moon has arrived...and not a moment too soon
for me as I always look forward to these few days each month of sacred drumming,
singing, dancing, dreaming, en-visioning, praying, loving, resting, re-newing....
And, if you haven't done so already, you might want to check out the December's "New
Moon Kalends" page for the current (12/11) New Moon phase. See
you then! ~ Seacrone

Let There be Peace......
12/07 - Tuesday. Tonight, the Libra Moon
conjuncts my 8th house Neptune, lending "deep empathy for women and children". While thinking of ALL cold and
hungry people everywhere, I am saddened and angry with the shallow, greedy consumerism of the Holiday season when viewed juxtaposed
against a backdrop of dead Iraqi children, their grieving families, and soldiers (on both sides). I vow to spend time in prayer
during the next few days of the Balsamic Moon for World Unity and Peace. May God/Goddess Bless (and forgive) us All.
(For more on the Balsamic "Dark of the Moon" phase, see the Articles/Essays page).
12/4 - 12/5 - With the Moon in Virgo over the week-end I've been listening to
the rain, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez while cleaning out drawers and closets and boxing up clothes to be sent to "Grandmother
Waynonaha Two Worlds" for the Seneca children.**For more details about the clothing drive and efforts to help
the Seneca Indian Children's Early Development program, please see the "Writes and Recipes" page. Blessings, Seacrone

Wind and Water
On Saturday, December 4th, the Last Quarter Moon Phase (at 7:53 pm at 13Virgo14) with its half light, half dark, soli/lunar
energy will begin to rapidly diminish until it's Balsamic phase, giving us the opportunity to re-evaluate and continue to
revise what we've put into motion during the New Moon. After gathering input from others, our newly hatched creations begin
to sever from the "Mother" plant and start to take on a life of their own. It's time to harvest our own understanding of what's
been created, decide what to discard, keeping the seed/kernel of what has esential value and meaning for us so we can re-organize
during the Balsamic Moon phase and replant during the next New Moon. (For more on what this particular Last Quarter Moon phase
may hold in store for us, please see the Articles/Essay page).
Me? I suppose if more water gets into the basement, I can always let it freeze over and make a skating rink. In
the meantime I'm headed out to the hardware store to get some Quick-rete, then off to sing Christmas carols with the family
at the tree-lighting ceremony on the Library green. As ever, Seacrone
12/1 - 12/3 Wednesday thru Friday. With transiting Neptune traveling through my lst Natal house in trine to my 5th house
Sun, it's been a fairly tranquil time, working on charts, enjoying the music as my children practice their instruments, sometimes
my husband on his piano, me on the flute, watching some great movies, etc. However, Neptune squaring my IC has been no picnic.
Foggy headedness is bad enough, but now it seems Neptune wants to take up residence below ground in our basement with
Pluto (transiting my 10th house, opposite my 4th house Mercury). After spending two nights cleaning up after Wednesday's wild
wind and rain storm, bailing out our old, leaky basement and replacing the old sump pump, I realize it's perhaps time to begin
thinking about shoring up the 100 yr.old foundation and how it can be made better, stronger. ~ Seacrone
