The "Kalanemi" or Rim of the Great Star Wheel of Time at the edge of the universe was thought to embody the spirit of the zodiac, and was sometimes depicted as a World Serpent circling the earth, tail in mouth. One had to study the Kalanemi in order to learn "kalends", the chronological order of the seasons and festivals as the great star wheel turned. They were the New Moon Sabbaths of ancient Latinium. The lunar calendar was used in Saxon England where the month of May was known as "SproutKale", the sprouting time of Virgin Mother earth with her archaic name of Kale, Kelle, or Kali. "Nemi" in Greco Roman culture meant Moon-grove.  The ancient astrologers viewed the zodiac/star wheel as the sacred Moon grove thru which She traveled.  Here, you will find that the "everyday" and every crone/cronie's story counts as important. All are invited to join the Moon and I as we change, laugh, cry and celebrate during our journey around the Star Wheel of the ancient Moon-grove.

A Woman's journey from Birth, throughout her Maiden and Motherhood years, winding its way through many Lunar Phases and Progressions towards Cronedom can be a journey of empowerment for the woman who challenges stereotypes and chooses to embrace her personal uniqueness as it unfolds.  No one who has lived long enough to experience their Uranus Opposition (when transiting Uranus opposes it's natal position) is exempt from experiencing mid-life transits.  However, all can benefit from greeting such life transitions as a cosmic opportunity to begin to balance the left and right (male/female) side of our brains, which in turn helps us to begin to understand and heal ourselves, one another, our relationships and our communities.

JUST LET IT BEE!

"When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of (S)is-dom*, let it be.  And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me, speaking words of (S)isdom*, let it be."

"Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of (S)isdom*, let it be."

"And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree, there will be an answer, let it be. For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see, there will be an answer, let it be."

"Let it be, let it be...

"And when the night is cloudly, there is still a light that shines on me, shine until tomorow, let it be.  I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of  (S)isdom*, let it be."

(Lyrics from the Beatle's song 'Let it Be')

* Wisdom.  However, I first typed Wisdom with an "S" by mistake and then decided  I really like this new word: "Sis-dom" that I had inadvertantly created, so I decided to leave it that way. For me it means the collective Wisdom of Sisterhood. No matter what name you know Her by, She is everywhere.

Barbara Walker writes about Mary in her book, 'The Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets' and the Gothic cathedrals that were dedicated to Her and collectively called Notre Dame ("Our Ladies" or "Palaces of the Queen of Heaven"). She indicates that many were  built over the old shrines of the Great Goddess. For example, Santa Maria Maggiore stands over the sacred cave of the Magna Mater, the former temple of Tanit is the site of Santa Maria in Aracoeli on the Capitoline Hill, and some of Mary's churches throughout Italy were built on the old shrines of Diana, Minerva, Juno, Isis. She also mentions a famous statue of Mary known as the Vierge Ouvrante (and written about by Neumann, G.M. pg.330-31) that opens up to show God, Jesus, Angels and the Saints all contained within her. She quotes Wyclif, who in the 14th century wrote: ".. there is no sex or age, no rank or position of anyone in the whole human race, which has no need to call for the help of the Holy Virgin", and that the Te Deuyum Laudamus states:"all earth doth worship thee, Spouse of the Eternal Father." She closes with Lederer, who wrote "that it is recognized today that two rivers of common source, Mary and Maya, the Virgin and Shakti, once again run into one; and the Goddess is once  more as she ever was, the creatix of the universe, the self-revealing energy of the unknowable God."  Since I choose to live and think outside the box, I LOVE this book.

So, thank you Barbara for all your words of Sisdom, and thank you Mother Mary for helping to Heal each one of us as we help Heal one another. ~  Spring Time Blessings, Seacrone

Happy Spring Equinox!
Ayuh. Betcha thought I'd "done gone and died" on ya! Ha! I'm happy to say I'm still very much alive and kicking. I even managed (in spite of nagging knee pain) to stand and watch Mystic's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade yesterday (and enjoyed some great lamb stew while doing so). So.. take THAT Mr. Pluto (transiting my North Node).

I remember years ago a fellow astrologer mentioning that if a Pluto transit to your North Node or Sun didn't steamroll you into the ground it made you tougher. 'Tis true. For example, I've sadly lost three dear friends to untimely deaths over the past few months, watched a beloved niece deal with the fall out of substance abuse, have been dealing with my youngest son's adolescent behavior/angst while he pushes the limits(and our buttons), and more recently (during the eclipse) lost the hard drive on my computer (thanks a lot Mercury Retrograde - you brat), and, after years of accupuncture/chiropractic tx, I am finally considering surgery on one of my knees for a torn meniscus. Apparently the years of my youthful activities (running, skiing, equestrian sports have finally caught up to me). But why bore you with the details!? Well, for one reason, to show you by personal experience how some of the current transits to my natal chart have manifested!  Transiting Saturn in Leo has been hovering around my Descendant (opposite my Aquarian Ascendant) for a while now, which has helped trim my waistline. This aspect can also help one in streamlining partnerships or relationships with others by facing the facts, facing our limitations, and eliminating what doesn't work for us by insisting we get serious about what does. For example, Saturn has been transiting my oldest daugher's Asc. In her case, although she was thin to begin with, she lost even more weight (while going through the emotional angst of facing the demise of her marriage and subsequent painful divorce). Pluto has a way of removing the "dead wood", but also promises subsequent new growth after healing. However, Saturn and  I have become old buddies. I've learned how to work with his (and Pluto's) energies. They help me hone in on whatever area of my life needs refurbishing and polishing. Reminds me a bit of looking at an embedded thorn/splinter under a magnifying glass while digging it out with a needle. The tree surgeon may have to cut with precision to remove/repair what can't be saved/kept, but oh, how glorious the tree will bloom over the following years.

Transiting Saturn in Leo is ruled by the Sun. My natal Sun is in Cancer in the 5th house (conjunct my husband's natal Jupiter). My husband's natal Saturn is conjunct my Venus. Lots of glue here. We have chosen to be together for the long run. Our Love is older than Time itself. As we grow older, our marriage of almost a quarter of a century changes and distills and is still going strong.. I hope Spring finds all of you hopeful in the knowledge that Spring always comes, even after the darkest winter(s).  How do I know? Because there is no doubt in my mind and heart that God/Goddess hears our prayers. Just today, after a particularly eventful (and painfully growth oriented) week-end with my son I picked up my mail and found a small package from the sister of my late friend Sara. Inside was a lovely note, picture and prayer card along with a set of rosary beads that were Sara's.  Laurel, (Sara's sister, and whom I've never met) felt Sara wanted me to have them. As I held them and said a prayer of thanks I started to cry remembering that just a few days ago I had spoken out loud to Sara (working from the other side now) to tell God/Goddess not to forget me and to send me (and my family) strength. Thank you Sara! May you and 'The Bear' journey on. I love you both. As ever ~ Seacrone
